Materials & Process LussoStraps sources the finest leathers from Europe, North America and South America for your Panerai. ​ Our European top-grain leathers are obtained from Italy’s premier tanneries after being processed using generations-old protocols that date back hundreds of years. The months-long process involves only tree bark and tannins; no chemicals are used. Top-grain leathers are known for their sturdiness and flexibility. ​ South America provides some of the most desirable calfskin in the world. Ours is produced in Colombia, which is known for supplying the most supple yet strong calfskin leather anywhere. Although luxurious and soft, it is actually one of the most durable leathers available. It retains its shape and holds up well even in very cold climates. Colombia also provides us with gorgeous full-grain leathers. We use this smooth variety not only for straps, but in our travel cases as well. ​ From North America, we obtain famous Horween® leather from their tannery in Chicago, USA, where they have been processing premier hides since 1905. Specifically, we utilize their Chromexcel® line. Referred to as “pull up,” this unique leather is impregnated with fats and oils that are redistributed when the leather is flexed. Over time, this results in a beautiful pattern of lightening unique to your usage characteristics. Its 89 step process includes both vegetable and tree bark tanning for deep pigmentation and a lustrous finish. In addition to shedding water easily, it is incredibly supple, and molds easily to your wrist. ​ Additionally, we utilize Amman Serafil® threading from Germany for a beautiful and strong stitch. Our Pre-V style buckles are produced from 316L stainless steel for years of use. ​ We do not make custom straps, that is to say those made to measure. Rather, we make our straps using classic tools and techniques a few at a time. Our artisans follow strict procedures and exacting measurements, which allows us to provide you with a gorgeous handmade strap that meets your expectations of quality and precision every time.

What leathers do you use for your luxury products? LussoStraps uses a variety of fine leathers selected from the finest producers in the world. Top grain, calfskin, full grain and Horween® are our primary leather types. What do the numbers mean? The numbers 24/24 and 26/26 refer to the width of your Panerai strap at the case lugs and the buckle in millimeters (mm). The first number is the case lug width and the second is the buckle width. If you are unsure about your Panerai's watch strap width, please feel free to contact LussoStraps at info@lussostraps.com with your model number and we will happy to advise. The numbers 125/75, for example, refer to the lengths of the two pieces of the strap in mm. The first number is the length of the longer side with the holes, and the second is the length of the shorter buckle side.
